National interests gain force abroad
CNI follows international negotiations among economic blocks and foreign trade policy adopted by the government while putting forward suggestions and proposals - always defending the interests of Brazilian industry. In addition, it maintains alliances with similar entities abroad, exchanging information and discussing ways of expanding trade. The partnership arrangements that CNI holds with German, North American and Japanese industries and those of the IBAS group (India, Brazil and South Africa) are typical examples. CNI is also a member of IOE, AILA and BIAC(OECD)
A third front of CNI work is the promotion of trade and investments.
Through its network, the Confederation offers support to companies undergoing a process of internationalization, especially small and medium-sized companies. Another important action in the international field is the Brazilian Business Coalition (Coalizão Empresarial Brasileira - CEB). Together, CNI and CEB monitor trade-related matters - like the reduction of Tariff and Non-tariff Barriers - economic issues, investments, intellectual property issues and government purchasing.
