This document was elaborated in 2006 and distributed to presidential candidates. The document synthesizes the view from industry regarding economic growth and came into being as the result of a consensus formed by 1.2 thousand businessmen that participated in the National Meeting of Industry. Ten key areas were addressed:
• Cuts in Public Expenditure;
• Taxes;
• Infrastructure;
• Financing;
• Labor relations;
• Debureaucratization;
• Innovation;
• Education;
• Trade Policy;
• Environment.
The event, held in June of the same year, brought together the Presidents of the Federations of Industries, of the national sectoral associations and of industrial sectoral organizations from all over Brazil, to discuss the challenges facing employers unions and priorities for giving impetus to the country's growth.
In carrying out a diagnosis of the economic scene, the study brings with it suggestions for actions to be undertaken in the 10 areas that were analyzed, in order to interrupt the cycle of slow growth that has occurred over the last few years.
