This document, produced by CNI in 2005, on the occasion of the Brazilian Congress on Innovation in Industry, sets out the aspects that were the object of discussion during that gathering which brought together the business, academic and government sectors. Among the main themes were the financing of innovation activities in companies; the regime of tax incentives and support for innovation; policies for accessing international markets; the development of sectoral policies and the improvement of infrastructure services.
From CNI's point of view, the innovation process cannot be limited to a small number of companies. It is necessary to invest in the technological development of the entire industrial sector and to promote a reform of those Brazilian institutions that offer support to innovation, in addition to preparing them to keep pace with global competition.
